Asher is an urban planner skilled in developing innovative, long-term strategies across urban, suburban, and rural contexts. With a strong foundation in land use planning, data analysis, affordable housing, and GIS, he has played key roles in projects for cities, regional governments, and state agencies.
Before joining Grayscale Asher worked as an associate policy planner and GIS analyst with PlaceWorks, a planning, design, and environmental consulting firm. Prior to his career in urban planning, Asher worked as a community organizer, an affordable housing advocate, and a paralegal with the Legal Aid Society of NYC's Foreclosure Prevention Project, giving him unique insight into housing challenges and the importance of equitable solutions. As a planner, organizer, and community member, his perspective is rooted in a personal commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous communities.
Asher holds a Master in Urban Planning from Harvard University with a concentration in Housing, Community, and Economic Development, and a BA in English from Oberlin College.
