Jein is a Master in Urban Planning candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her focus is on community & economic development, primarily around commercial corridors and how public and private stakeholders can maintain and revitalize these spaces as anchors of neighborhood identity, placemaking, and local economic resilience. Prior to Harvard GSD, Jein was a market research consultant for Fortune 500 brands at Morning Consult and a researcher at the Urban Institute in the Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center. She graduated from the University of Chicago with honors in Sociology and Public Policy, where her senior thesis focused on the implications of rapid commercialization of West Loop, a former meat packing and warehouse district.
